Local communities in Slovenia : ウィキペディア英語版 | Municipalities of Slovenia
Slovenia is divided into 212 municipalities (''občine'', singular''občina''), of which 11 have urban status. Municipalities are further divided into local communities and districts. Slovene is an official language of all the municipalities. Hungarian is a second official language of 3 municipalities in Prekmurje: Dobrovnik/Dobronak, Hodoš/Hodos and Lendava/Lendva. Italian is a second official language of 4 municipalities (of which one has urban status) in the Slovene Littoral: Ankaran/Ancarano, Izola/Isola, Koper/Capodistria and Piran/Pirano. In the EU statistics the municipalities of Slovenia are classified as "local administrative unit 2" (LAU 2), below 58 Administrative units (') which are LAU 1. ==English names== The Slovene names have the word "Občina" in front, e.g. "Občina Bled". As an English name, the Statistical Office uses a word by word transformation, e.g. "Municipality Bled".〔http://www.stat.si/ObcineVStevilkah/Vsebina.aspx?leto=2012&id=6&lang=eng〕 The Slovene Press Agency (STA) also uses the inverted form, e.g. "Bled municipality".〔http://www.sta.si/en/vest.php?s=a&id=814498〕 A third form is used by The Office of the President of the Republic, e.g. "municipality of Bled".〔http://www2.gov.si/up-rs/2002-2007/jd-ang.nsf/dokumentiweb/DB9C2F1B4A07C934C12572D800712450?OpenDocument〕
